Central Texas Kid's Activities for September by Guest Blogger Cordovan Art School | Central Texas Info by Norman Photography ~ Harker Heights Family Photographer

REDISCOVER YOUR CREATIVE ALTER EGO

Creativity and creative expression are essential.  Maybe you’ve never taken an art class before, maybe you did once upon a time and want to start again, or maybe your child colors on EVERYTHING.  Cordovan Art School offers art, dance and karate classes for children and adults.  We love the arts and we want you to also!  Our instructors are professionals in their fields, so you learn from the best.  Our class sizes are small, so you get lots of individual attention.
As you walk in you know immediately that kids love coming here.  Student artwork hangs on the wall and opposite are the karate students of the month.  Walking down the hallway you are met by framed works done by the professional artists who teach.  As you move back into the classrooms you are greeted by giant, colorful wall murals: balloons, a sunken treasure ship, a carousel.  Even the bathrooms have frogs and chameleons painted on the walls.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays the building echoes with “HYAH” from karate students running around in white uniforms called Gi.  On Saturday mornings kids come streaming in wearing smocks and old t-shirts ready to take on a new, messy art project.  Every afternoon of the week the building is full of kid noise.  Art is fun, so kids have fun while they learn the basics of drawing, the discipline of karate, or the form of ballet.

PARENTS: We started a new class specifically for women—it’s Ladies Art Night.  The 3rd Friday of each month we have a fun project lined up that ladies can finish in one class period.  Ladies are welcome to bring food and beverage while they socialize and have some “me time.”

We offer a 10% military discount.  For families with siblings or who want to take more than one class, we offer a 20% discount on all classes after the first.  We also work with SKIESunlimited on Fort Hood.
