Carlock Family | Ft. Hood Family Photographer

Very seldom do I get an overcast day where I can take families this close to the water without awful shadows!  The Carlock family was really a pleasure to meet and work with.  Dad got home recently and I love shooting families recently reunited!  We had lovely weather, perfect scenery, and come to find out later in the session that they were married at a bed & breakfast right up the road!  I had to get them up there to do a family session after hearing that!  How perfect right?  I hope you enjoy looking through their session, it came out so nice!

The Carlock family is also one of our families that we did a free session for!  Are you military and want free pictures?  Find out more here!

Alvarez | Harker Heights Family Photographer

I love mini sessions!  They are perfect for a quick family op to get a new set of pics up around the house.  And you'd be surprised how many pictures we get in short amount of time!  For this mini, meet the Alvarez family!  They have a super sweet baby girl half way to 2 years old and she is gorgeous isn't she?  She reminds me so much of my youngest with the curls!  This session takes place at Chalk Ridge Falls and is perfect for Fall portraits right now!  It's great year round but really pretty right now, especially down by the water.

If you're interested in a mini session, we offer 30 minute sessions that come with:
a online album with a minimum of 20 edited images from which to choose
10 selected images form the album on a CD with print release
$150
(military discount does not apply to minis)

Pence Family | Killeen Family Photographer

This has been the season of boys for me!  Baby boys, little boys, big boys, and senior boys!  I don't mind.  Having 2 little girls at home all the time makes hanging out with this group of brothers a fun change of pace.  This is the Pence family, all 5 of them!  Bethanny warned me that they had never done a real photoshoot before and she couldn't guarantee what to expect.  I hear this a lot from moms, so I had faith in them and they all did wonderfully!  Dad didn't get back from oversees but acouple weeks before and I really think you can see in the pictures how much he is loved and was missed by his family (and the reverse).  Pence family, I had a great time with you and hope you enjoy your pictures forever!

For the Pence session, we played on the infamous Pace Park road with the fabulous white fence and covered tree length.  The family walking down the road playing "red light, green light" with me are some of my favorite pictures from this spot!  The teacher in me comes out when kids are around I suppose.  Next, we went down to Salado Creek to throw rocks in the water and see the ducks.  It was a lovely afternoon and I think we got some great shots!  Enjoy...

Torres Family | Ft. Hood Family Photographer

Meet the Torres family!  They are one of our Military Appreciation Families for September and they were such a sweet family!  We had lovely weather early one morning in Salado and did the session up and down main street.  Their little guy is about the same age as my youngest so I was ready for all the running around I was going to have to do to get pictures.  He was a sweet boy even though he gave me a run for it!

Know a family that would like to receive free pictures from us as a thank you for military service?  Click that link titled "Military Program" above and check eligibility!  We already have families scheduled through next year and get requests too late all the time!  Email Normanphotography@ymail.com for more info!

iheartfaces contest "Hands" | Killeen Family Photographer

I've missed alot of the iheartfaces contests lately due to thankfully being so busy!  When I popped over to their website and saw this week was "hands", I remembered this shot from a session I did recently.  Hands are such a visual cue into people's emotions.  Where they place them, how they hold them, and the emotion they can communicate.  I love this shot because it even though Adrianna has her face covered with her hands, it's almost like a facial expression.  We all know she's being silly and why she has her face covered.  It's just a sweet shot from a very sweet family.

Fall Activities in Central Texas by Norman Photography | Killeen Family Photographer

If October has snuck up on you as it has me, you've suddenly realized you need to shop for Halloween costumes, throw up a few fall decorations, start looking for deals on Halloween candy, find out when Halloween trick-or-treating is, and schedule a pumpkin patch visit.  I'm going to cover that last little bit to help you find out where you can find the local pumpkin patches.  And by the way, Killeen is celebrating Halloween on Monday, Oct. 31 (as is Copperas Cove).

First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch (10 minute drive)
Harker Heights, Tx
Carnival Oct 15 3-7
I personally took my kids to this one last year because with little ones I didn't want to travel far.  We had a great time, they had a great selection, and the prices were very fair.

Silo Christmas Tree Farm (35 minute drive)
Temple, Tx
Free admission (they do ask for a canned food or monetary donation)
You can purchase tickets to do activities such as hay rides, pumpkin painting, hay maze, and duck races.
Food & gift shop

Sweetberry Farms (60-70 minute drive)
Marble Falls, Tx
This one really is a fabulous place and I'm sad I haven't taken my kiddos here yet!  You really have to check out their website to see all they offer year round!

Elgin Christmas Tree Farm (90 minutes)
Elgin, Tx
They have pumpkin festivals during October that look like alot of fun!

The Jersey Barnyard (2.5 hours)
La Grange, Tx
They have so many cool things to see on a Jersey farm and you get to go in the pumpkin patch!

Bastrop Gardens (2 hours)
Bastrop, Tx
There's no pumpkin patch, but if you'd like to pick your own organic vegetables, they do have that!

M&J Lavendar Farm (2 hours)
Johnson City, Tx
You can pick your own fresh lavender and get fresh honey from their bee hives!

Fall is also the best time to take advantage of taking family pictures.  The weather is cool, you get to see family and friends more often at events, and what's better as a Christmas present than pictures?
